YouTube has begun rolling out a podcast section on its website
YouTube has begun to roll out a podcast section on its website, adding value to the platform as it prepares to compete with Spotify as a one-stop shop for media. YouTube has expanded its platform in recent years to become a one-stop shop for everything from music to short and long-form videos to live streams. The company’s streaming service, which used to be called YouTube Red, has become more popular over the years as it has added more media and made it possible to close the mobile app while watching videos.
YouTube Premium, a Google-owned website, was launched in 2018, putting the business into the music streaming industry alongside Apple Music and Spotify. YouTube has recently begun to roll out a dedicated page for podcasts, increasing their discoverability. According to a post from 9to5google on August 21, YouTube’s podcast website has begun to roll out to users worldwide.
The page first appeared to consumers in late July 2022, but it appears that the firm has accelerated its rollout as more and more users see it. Once you have access, you’ll be able to see some of YouTube’s most popular podcasts, such as Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE, Nelk Boys’ Full Send Podcast, and even Ethan Klein’s H3 Podcast. The dedicated podcast area has a link on the site’s ‘Explore’ page, and users can access it directly via the link.
It’s unclear what will happen to the Google Podcast app once the functionality is rolled out more, considering that YouTube Music eventually replaced Google’s app.
