YouTube finally introduced the option to zoom in and out on a video
Since its debut in 2005, YouTube has seen a number of improvements, but after celebrating its 17th birthday earlier this year, the business chose to further polish its appearance and feel, revealing two of the tweaks that may alter how you use YouTube. After numerous requests, YouTube finally made it possible to zoom in and out of videos. The fact that the video doesn’t immediately zoom out when you release the screen is great. This frees you from the inconvenience of needing to keep your fingertips on the screen throughout a zoomed-in video so you can enjoy it.
Another game-changer is precision seeking. The function, which is accessible on both the web and mobile devices, enables you to see multiple thumbnails of your film in the video player. This is very useful if you need to locate a particular section of your film. The improvements YouTube has made to its user experience may be overshadowed by these potent video tools. In a blog post today, Nate Koechley, the UX director at YouTube, detailed the platform’s redesign.
The Ambient Mode modifications are the first. The mode subtly changes the app background’s color to match the overall hue of the video you’re watching by using dynamic color sampling. Increasing focus and bringing the user’s attention to their device are the goals. Additionally, Ambient Mode helps to make the screen more vibrant without making it distracting. You can enable it by switching on the dark theme for the web and mobile devices.
The colour of the dark theme was also improved. In an effort to make your video stand out even more, it is now darker than before. The web, mobile devices, and even smart TVs will soon have this feature. A revamp of the video player is also being made in an effort to clean out some of the clutter. The currently disorganized and scattered YouTube links in video descriptions will be changed to look like buttons. The download, share, and like buttons will be redesigned to have a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. A new color, shape, and contrast level will also be applied to the large, red subscribe button. Once more, the intention is to make it even more distinctive than it currently is.
