You may now use a single app to stream both Paramount Plus and Showtime
Now you only need one app to get all of Showtime and Paramount Plus’s content. In the United States, the Paramount and Showtime libraries were formerly split between two apps until last September when they were bundled into a single package for subscribers, but now the whole lineup of television episodes and feature films is available within the single Paramount Plus app.
Paramount Plus and Showtime are currently being offered at a discounted rate for new members until October 2nd, with the Essential plan (which includes ad breaks) costing $7.99 per month with Showtime, and the Premium plan costing $12.99 per month with Showtime, which includes more sports, live broadcasts of your local CBS station, and downloads for offline viewing on mobile, and largely removes ads, save for live TV and certain shows. Regular price for the combined Essential tier and Premium plan returns on October 2nd, with the former costing $11.99 per month and the latter $14.99.
Without Showtime, both the $4.99/month Essential plan (with advertisements) and the $9.99/month Premium plan (without advertisements) for Paramount Plus will remain active as stand-alone services.
Paramount Global Streaming president Tom Ryan claimed in a news statement that the service’s “unique user experience” will make signing up easier and let users find new content more quickly.
This is a primer on Star Trek and Halo streaming apps in case you have not been keeping up with the latest episodes of both shows over the previous few years. The service formerly known as CBS All Access is now called Paramount Plus. This year, Paramount’s parent company, ViacomCBS, relaunched as Paramount to emphasise its streaming services even more than before. Paramount Plus announced in May that its subscriber count had increased to about 40 million during the first quarter, and in June, the company announced plans to “to commission” 150 additional international original series to add to its existing library of content.
This streaming service has been offered in packages like this one with T-wireless Mobile’s service since mid-August, when it collaborated with Walmart to bundle its service with Walmart Plus. Not as expensive as traditional cable, these packages take a similar strategy to Disney’s consolidation of Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus, and in 2023, HBO Max will be rolled into a new combined app with Discovery Plus. Meanwhile, Netflix is flying alone; the company is working on an ad-supported streaming bundle and has introduced games to its subscription tiers.
