Windows 11 adds folders to the Start menu in its latest updates
The Start menu will now have folders in Windows 11. Microsoft has announced that folders will be available in the Start menu starting today, with a Windows 11 upgrade (though as ever, that rollout will reach some PCs before others). We’ve already tested this functionality, as Start menu folders landed in a Windows 11 preview release back in February.
These program folders do exactly what you’d think and allow you to easily create folders within the Start menu. Drag and drop app icons to create folders with small app icons in the folder design to show what’s inside. You may also name these folders to help organize and identify them quickly.
Tabs in File Explorer allow you to open numerous folders in one window, similar to a web browser. Microsoft has started releasing new features outside of big Windows upgrades, such as Android app support (in testing) and redesigned Notepad and Media Player programs.
