Fans of The Sims 4 are looking forward to the next generation of the game, despite the fact that the game has received numerous expansion packs and kits to keep the experience new. We will describe the current state of production and provide some background information on Project Rene, popularly known as The Sims 5.
When is The Sims 5 going to be released?
There is currently no set release date for The Sims 5, although development is well along. During the most recent Behind The Sims Summit, Grant Rodiek, the game’s director, gave an update on the development of Project Rene and revealed that the development team had some work to do.
Rodiek adds, “Right now, we are really focused on analyzing our recent playtests so that we can use that information to make the game better. We have a long path ahead of us to make Project Rene awesome.” Considering that they are implementing new dynamics, it is quite unlikely that The Sims 5 will be released anytime soon.

Newcomers to the series should know that the next iteration will have multiplayer and crossplay gameplay, which will provide a number of hurdles for developer Maxis Studios. Grant also noted that the team is testing out the new systems in playtests and eliminating any confusing concepts they find.
Most recently, players were able to test out the new design process for The Sims 5’s furniture in a playtest that focused on mobile and PC integration. Multiplayer walkthroughs were also demonstrated, so players wouldn’t have to build their Sims’ homes alone.
