WhatsApp Desktop Will Soon Support Selecting Multiple Chats
People who want to use WhatsApp but prefer a larger screen can do so by downloading the Windows app from the Microsoft Store or using the web-based client. With the steady stream of updates to the PC version of the messaging platform, users will soon have the ability to select multiple chats at once. Yes, this important feature isn’t available for WhatsApp desktop users right now. However, new information about testing has come out this week that suggests this will soon change.
According to WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently beta testing this feature, with a full rollout expected in the coming months if the tests go as planned. You can mute, delete, or mark as read or unread multiple conversations at once if you select them. The option, which users can access by clicking the checkbox to the side of the chat window or using the context menu that appears when they right-click on individual messages, is anticipated to be named “Select chats.”
From the looks of things, this functionality is only available in the desktop app of WhatsApp and not in the web version, which can be accessed through a web browser, or the Linked Devices feature, which now permits users to connect up to four devices with the same phone number. You can now use the same WhatsApp account on two devices, but only one will be the primary device. This feature was recently added by WhatsApp and supports a secondary phone. One of the other features WhatsApp is experimenting with is the option to report status updates for potential violations of the service’s terms of service.
