What Led to Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady’s Final Breakup
Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen had a plan for their love even before it scored a touchdown.
Although the Super Bowl champion and supermodel announced their divorce on October 28, they had already worked out the details of the divorce prior to making the announcement.
They hammered out the settlement details, and after everything was agreed upon, there was no reason to wait, a source close to the former couple told E! News. They are both eager to leave the past behind and start fresh.
The two “agreed on joint custody and dividing their assets,” the source said, referring to their children Benjamin, 12, and Vivian, 9. Tom also shares son Jack, 15, with Bridget Moynahan. They want to co-parent peacefully without causing their children any stress.
“It’s a sad day but it’s also a relief to have the settlement wrapped up,” the insider explained. “They’ve known this was coming and it’s time to move on.”
Upon announcing their separation, Tom and Gisele provided further details about their future plans.
The quarterback announced the split from his wife of 13 years on Instagram on October 28. “We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”
Last but not least, he admitted that things were better off without each other.
Of course, it is hard and difficult to do so, just as it is for the countless others who go through the same thing every day all around the world, he continued. Nonetheless, we support each other and hope for the best as we embark on the next stages of our lives.
Gisele, meanwhile, expressed her appreciation for their time together.
In a statement, she said, “The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it, of course difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed to the time we had together and only wish Tom all the best always I kindly ask that our privacy be respected during this sensitive time.”
