Watch: Jason Momoa goes butt naked in Jimmy Kimmel Live show
Jimmy Kimmel took a minute during the Aquaman actor’s appearance on the show on Wednesday to display Momoa and the audience a photo that the 43-year-old just posted to Instagram of himself wearing what seems to be a beige thong while fishing.
Momoa told Kimmel, “That’s a traditional malo, it’s what the Hawaiians wear.” He began wearing the garment in preparation for filming his upcoming Apple TV+ series Chief of War.
According to Momoa, the malo is “what I wear every day” on the set of the series, which he places in late 18th-century Hawaii.
“I was just getting ready for the role, cause I like to get into character, and so I was tanning my white ass,” the actor explained Kimmel. “It was a second — you go past and he just happened to take a little photo.”
Kimmel quipped that Aquaman must make the fish in the ocean feel betrayed, and then he questioned, “And that’s comfortable?”
“Oh my God, yes. I actually don’t even like wearing clothes anymore,” Momoa answered. “I’m in it every day. I wear it all the time.”
In response to Jimmy Kimmel’s inquiry as to whether or not actor Jason Momoa was wearing the traditional thong-like clothing known as the malo under his clothes during their interview, Momoa stood up and began to undress, eventually leaving only the malo on display for the talk show host and his audience.
One video of Momoa wearing the malo while fishing was posted on his Instagram Story in October. Another photo showed him standing with a pal while they showed off their separate catches.
While on his adventure, Momoa also posted a photo of himself “collecting rainbows” in a Mananalu water bottle. Together, we can put an end to the needless waste of plastic water bottles and other single-use items, as he pleaded in his photo’s caption. “My deepest aloha.”
