Watch: First look of ‘Little Mermaid’ and ‘Lion King’ prequel ‘Mufasa’ revealed by Disney
On Friday at the Disney fan convention D23, Disney released the first teaser trailer for the live-action adaptation of the 1989 animated picture, featuring Halle Bailey as Ariel the mermaid singing “Part of Your World,” On May 26, 2023, moviegoers can see the remade version.
The video displays Bailey singing while submerged in water, earning her a standing ovation from the audience.
Bailey’s performance was hailed as “a tour de force.” by the film’s director, Rob Marshall.
Marshall said, “It’s the range of what Halle brings, full and emotional and so joyous and fighter. You see all the sides of her,”
At Disney D23, Pixar and Amy Poehler dropped the news that they were making “Inside Out 2.”
This will be the first time Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda have worked together, but according to Marshall, they have four new songs in the film.
And, as Marshall put it, “And it’s magical,”
At the convention, “Moonlight” director Barry Jenkins showed off the first trailer for “Mufasa: The Lion King”
The original “Lion King,” features James Earl Jones as the voice of Mufasa, king of the Pride Lands, father of Simba, and spouse of Sarabi.

“Lion King” a live-action prequel set to be released in 2019, will tell the “origin story of one of the greatest kings of the Pride Lands,” director and producer S.J. This is the tale of Mufasa’s entrance into the Circle of Life.
Jenkins showed clips of a young orphan named Mufasa surviving a devastating flood and maturing into a powerful leader. The release date for the movie is set for 2024.
The cast of “Disenchanted,” including Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, Idina Menzel, and Maya Rudolph, took the Disney stage on October 25 to announce the premiere date of the film’s sequel, “Enchanted,” which will stream on Disney+ on November 24.
Adams’ Gisele has become a mother of two, including a newborn. Rudolph portrays an antagonist in the film.
Rudolph said on stage, “It is not easy being terrible to Amy Adams, but we had fun being nasty to one other.
Gal Gadot, who will play the Evil Queen in the upcoming live-action “Snow White,” and Rachel Zegler, who starred in “West Side Story,” both made appearances at D23 to talk about the film.
Star of “Wonder Woman” Gal Gadot said it was “exhilarating” to play one of cinema’s most recognisable bad guys.
“I’m used to playing the other end. But getting under her skin and stepping into the shoes was so delightful, I enjoyed it so much,” Gadot said. “I was so much in that character. And it was so not me. I loved the fact I could go cuckoo and stretch myself.”
Zegler argued that her Snow White, who finds “definitely made for the modern age” is “herself and her inner voice.”
