Vincent Kartheiser to divorce Alexis Bledel after 8 years of marriage
It appears that Alexis Bledel and Vincent Kartheiser have decided to end their marriage.
The divorce papers were filed on Wednesday between the Gilmore Girls alum and the Mad Men star. The petition was presented on August 10, according to a representative of Kartheiser’s who spoke to People Magazine.
Bledel, then 40, and Kartheiser, then 43, met and became instant friends on the set of Mad Men that year. Beth Dawes, Campbell’s mistress, was played by Bledel in Season 5, while Pete Campbell was played by Kartheiser.
They were seen kissing in 2012, not long after Bledel guest starred. In 2014, they secretly tied the knot.
Bledel and Kartheiser want to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, so they rarely make public appearances together or talk about one other in the press. Furthermore, the couple does not use social media, thus there are no secret posts about their relationship online.
In 2014 Kartheiser stated, “It’s something I realized about the most important things in my life,”
“If I share them with the world and I open that door to their fuming anger that they need to get out or their adoration that they want to flaunt, it lessens it. It cheapens it; it weakens it. And it’s magical, love, and all of that is profoundly spiritual, and it just doesn’t feel right,” pointed the actor.
Bledel and Kartheiser had their first child in the fall of 2015, and they kept the pregnancy and birth a secret.
Although the renowned couple has yet to introduce their child to the public, Bledel’s former Gilmore Girls co-star Scott Patterson has given fans a glimpse into her new role as a mother.
“She’s really blossomed as a woman and now she’s a proud new mother and married and happy,” Patterson told Glamour. “We’re comparing notes because my son [born July 2014] is about a year and a half older than her young son. I’m showing her photos and videos and what to expect. We’re just really enjoying each other’s company.”
