“Venom 3 – Tom Hardy Announced Writing for Third Film Has Begun”
After it was announced earlier this year that a third Venom film would be made, production has now begun. Tom Hardy has taken to social media to announce that he is working on the film’s script.
In an Instagram post, Hardy showed the cover of a script with the title crossed out and replaced with a small design of Venom sticking his tongue out, with the tongue ending in the number “3.”
The story for Venom 3 will be written by Tom Hardy and Kelly Marcel, who also wrote the story for Venom: Let There Be Carnage in 2021. Marcel has now served as a writer on all three Venom films, with Hardy set to reprise his role as Eddie Brock.
It’s unclear what Venom 3 will be about when it arrives in theatres, but fans have speculated that Hardy’s Venom and Spider-Man will finally meet after 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. While Hardy has been advocating for this for some time, it remains to be seen whether either Tom Holland or Andrew Garfield’s version of the superhero will appear.
Following its October 1 theatrical release, Venom: Let There Be Carnage broke pandemic box office records by becoming 2021’s second highest-grossing film in the United States, with a domestic gross of more than $200 million and a worldwide gross of more than $480 million. Andy Serkis directed Venom: Let There Be Carnage from a screenplay written by Kelly Marcel based on a story by Tom Hardy and Marcel. The Oscar-nominated actor reprises his role as the titular lethal protector.
