Val Kilmer would welcome reprising his role as Batman
Legendary actor Val Kilmer has expressed a wish to reprise his 1995 performances as Chris Shiherlis in Heat and Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Forever. Both of these roles were critically acclaimed at the time. Kilmer quite clearly said, “Yea, please.” to play Batman/Bruce Wayne in a future cameo.”
In the 1995 film Batman Forever, starring Val Kilmer as the title character, The Dark Knight takes a young man named Dick Grayson under his wing while also battling Tommy Lee Jones’ Two-Face and Jim Carrey’s Riddler. Critics were divided on Batman Forever, but they praised Kilmer’s turn as the Dark Knight. In particular, Batman co-creator Bob Kane has said that Val Kilmer best captures his vision of Batman and Bruce Wayne in live action.

However, with the advent of the cinematic multiverse, it would be much easier to have Kilmer reprise his role as Batman or Bruce Wayne for a cameo. If/when The Flash is published, it will recast Batman Returns’ Michael Keaton as the title character and usher in the DC Cinematic Universe. Including Val Kilmer in a film where Easter eggs and cameos are popular would undoubtedly be a major hit with fans.
