“Uzumaki Anime Adaptation – Director Hiroshi Nagahama Announced another delay”
The developers of the much awaited anime adaptation of Junji Ito’s iconic manga Uzumaki have revealed yet another delay.
Director Hiroshi Nagahama announced the delay on the official Uzumaki anime Twitter account, citing the need to “replicate the quality of the elaborate drawings and exquisite line work” of Ito’s iconic narrative. The series was originally scheduled to air in October 2022.

The series’ launch will unfortunately need to be postponed once more, according to a portion of the announcement. “Director Hiroshi Nagahama and the production crew have requested more time in order to fully recreate Ito’s masterpiece, which features intricate designs and finely detailed line work. Even though we would like to release this show to the public right away, we don’t want to do so at the expense of its quality.

The first three volumes of the Uzumaki manga series were released in 1998. It tells the tale of high school girl Kirie Goshima, who resides in the fabled Japanese coastal village of Kurôzu-cho, which is described as a little fogbound hamlet.
