“UBISOFT’ – Has no plans for a showcase this June 2022, Will Hold Event Later This Year”
Because E3 will not be held in 2022, publishers who plan their announcements around the annual expo may treat this year differently. Ubisoft, for example, informed Axios that it will be skipping the festivities this month in favour of a Ubisoft Connect event later this year.
‘UBISOFT: Release date
Although Ubisoft has a large number of games in development, it’s probable that not all of them are ready for release. Its open-world Avatar game is set to appear before April 2023, but few details have been revealed about it since its announcement. More Skull & Bones news is purportedly on the way, as the game recently underwent a technical test, although Ubisoft has remained silent since acknowledging the leaks in April. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, which will be released in June 2021, has likewise remained silent.
According to two sources
According to two sources, Ubisoft is working on a smaller Assassin’s Creed game starring Valhalla’s proto-assassin Basim, although nothing has been confirmed. Given how both Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake have been beset with troubles since their respective announcements, it’s unclear how they’re doing. Many of these titles are cloaked in secrecy, and given the industry’s current state of flux, it’s easy to see how the publisher wouldn’t have enough to hold an event in June.
Other firms have also scaled back on their normal pomp and circumstance, so 2022 may just be a year low on big announcements. Electronic Arts is also abandoning its annual EA Play event, opting instead to focus on game-specific announcements, such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which was recently revealed. While Xbox and Bethesda are still hosting a combined webcast this month, Sony’s impending State of Play isn’t an E3-style event, and Nintendo has yet to announce a summer Direct. However, it’s not too late, as the firm only announced their last June Direct in early June, with only a 13-day lead time.
Other details
The repercussions of the global epidemic were bound to have an impact on the game development cycle. Due to the length of time it takes for a modern AAA product to be released, gamers are only now experiencing the drought that fans of other media have been experiencing for quite some time. Despite the shorter timetable, Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest Live and the regular band of publishers will do their best to make this June as interesting as possible.
