Tumblr has reversed its ban on nudity
Recent reports claim that Tumblr has lifted its prohibition on nudity. After four long years, this policy change has finally been made. On its platform, it has permitted some but not all pornographic content. Users will have the choice of whether or not to view this information. “We now welcome a broader range of expression, creativity, and art on Tumblr, including content depicting the human form (yes, that includes the naked human form),” the new guidelines state. So, even if your creations contain nudity, mature subject matter, or sexual themes, you can now share them on Tumblr using the appropriate community label so that everyone remains in control of the types of content they see on their dash.
Tumblr has refrained from reintroducing porn to the platform, though. The change specifies that “visual depictions of sexually explicit acts remain off-limits,” the update states. Tumblr says this is because “it’s not feasible for us to safely and successfully support porn communities at this time.”
Nudity was a common source of sexual enjoyment before Tumblr outlawed it. According to Michelle Santiago Cortés of Refinery29, “Tumblr porn was a doorway to a world of fascinating stuff that was far, far removed from Pornhub’s “uh-huh, do you like that?” offerings, especially for queer people and women.” The lifting of the nudity prohibition won’t, however, be welcomed by everyone. In February, Maggie Zhou of Refinery29 wrote about the Tumblr trauma she went through as a result of the platform’s preference for some body shapes over others.
“It’s not hyperbolic to say that almost a whole generation has been marred by body image issues surfaced by Tumblr,” she wrote. “Many of these beliefs have lain dormant, just waiting for their moment to resurface.” “The best we can do is face our buried pasts head-on, armed with the knowledge, hope, and resources that our younger selves were lacking.”
Tumblr is a website that users may make into whatever they wish. People have the freedom to post crap and compose quotes on Tumblr. Every action you take on the website reflects who you are. Tumblr users adore the website and occasionally even think it’s superior to other social media apps. The website was established in 2007 and launched by David Karp. This website stands out from the competition since it offers users a ton of customization choices.
