“True Detective: Night Country Season 4 – Gets Series order at HBO with star ‘Jodie Foster”
HBO has officially handed the upcoming fourth episode of the popular crime drama True Detective: Night Country, which will be starred by Oscar winner Jodie Foster, a series order. The episode was created by Issa Lopez and Barry Jenkins. Iceland will serve as the location for production.
True Detective: Cast
In addition, boxer Kali Reis has been cast in the starring role of Detective Evangeline Navarro opposite Foster, it has been revealed. Reis made her acting debut in the suspenseful movie Catch the Fair One last year. She has just completed her first TV production, an upcoming HBO series.
EVP of HBO Programming Francesca Orsi said in a statement: “We are tremendously excited to return to the True Detective franchise and to be working with the multi-talented Issa López, whose singular vision for her Night Country instalment will be beautifully realised with Jodie Foster and Kali Reis in the leading roles.
Issa Lopez and Alan Page Arriaga are writing True Detective: Night Country, and Lopez is anticipated to direct a number of the episodes. Through their Pastel banner, Foster, Barry Jenkins, Adele Romanski, and Mark Ceryak will serve as executive producers.
Along with Cary Joji Fukunaga and the series’ creator Nic Pizzolatto, other executive producers include Mari Jo Winkler, Matthew McConaughey, and Woody Harrelson. Nic Pizzolatto won’t be working on the fourth episode’s script, though.
True Detective: Synopsis
The six guys who run the Tsalal Arctic Research Station disappear without a trace as the long winter night comes in Ennis, Alaska, according to the synopsis. Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will need to face their own darkness in order to solve the case, as well as delve into the haunted realities that are buried beneath the perpetual ice.
