Travis Scott to play in London following Astroworld tragedy
Travis Scott confirmed his first UK show since the 2021 Astroworld tragedy. He will visit London this summer.
The Goosebumps singer will play at London’s The O2 on August 6. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 1 at 9am via Ticketmaster.
Ten people died at Scott’s farewell concert at Houston’s NRG Park on November 5, 2017. Since then, he only played a few times, notably at the Billboard Music Awards in May.
Scott will also headline the Day N Vegas event from September 2 to 4 in Las Vegas.
Fans may expect to hear “Goosebumps” “The Scotts” “Sicko Mode” “Highest in the Room” “TKN” and more at the London concert.
Travis Scott grew up in Houston and formed a group called Graduates as a youngster. First EP in 2009. Classmates released two albums, Buddy Rich and Cruis’ n USA, produced by Scott a year later.
Scott came to LA after dropping out of college and met T.I. After bonding with Kanye West, Scott began working with GOOD Music, featuring on the label’s Cruel Summer album in 2012.
Owl Pharaoh, Scott’s debut full-length solo mixtape, was delayed in 2012. Scott’s rising fame caused sample clearance issues, delaying the release. West and Mike Dean developed the project and led with Blocka La Flame, a remix of Pusha T’s Blocka. The May 2013 album included T.I. and 2 Chainz.
Scott teased Days Before Rodeo in 2014 before unveiling Rodeo. The album included Quavo, Kanye West, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, and Young Thug. Rodeo debuted at No.1 on Billboard’s Rap Albums list.
Scott performed on Wiz Khalifa, Rihanna, and Kanye West hits around this period. Early in 2016, Scott revealed a new album, Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight. His third album, Astroworld, was also revealed.
Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight topped the Billboard 200 in September. Scott worked with Sza, Drake, 2 Chainz, and Miguel before releasing his third album. Scott and Quavo released an album as Huncho Jack. The group name combined Quavo’s nickname “Huncho” with Scott’s first name “Jack”. 2017’s Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho was published.
Scott released Watch with Lil Uzi Vert and Kanye West the next year. The track promoted his third album, Astroworld. Astroworld topped the Billboard 200 in August 2018. Scott’s highest-charting single, Sicko Mode, topped the Billboard Hot 100.
Scott published a Cactus Jack collection in December 2019. Then came Gang Gang, Gatti, and Out West. Scott and Kid Cudi cooperated on “The Scotts” in 2020 and later teased a new album.
