Transfer WhatsApp chat history from an Android phone to an iPhone is available in an update to Apple’s Move to iOS app
After being in testing, an upgrade to Apple’s Move to iOS software now makes it possible to move your entire WhatsApp chat history from an Android phone to an iPhone. As a result, you can now transfer all of your images, videos, voice messages, and chat history from before you installed WhatsApp, as well as the other way around. Users have long asked for this feature because, in the past, you had to manually transfer your stuff to an iPhone or use a third-party program on a PC.
On the move to iOS, which is available for free download on the Google Play Store, Apple and Meta have undoubtedly discovered a way to make this happen (opens in a new tab). When someone wants to convert from an iPhone to an Android or vice versa, it will be considerably less of a hassle. I used to work at a phone store where I assisted customers with setting up and transferring their data from their old phones to their new ones. It was always difficult to make sure everything migrated from one device to the other.
There were occasions when I had to transfer specific files through Bluetooth from one Android device to another, or if it was from Android to iOS, I’d try to transfer the media but give up in defeat because it was nearly impossible to transfer the chat history. That is no longer an issue because of this “Move to iOS” update. Your contacts and other personal data transfer now only require one more step in the app. According to a post from WhatsApp (opens in a new tab), you must have the most recent version of WhatsApp installed on your Android smartphone, at least version 5, and the iOS 15.5 operating system on your new iPhone, according to a post from WhatsApp.
