‘The Witcher’ Gets Funko Pop Figures Ahead of Season 2’s Release
Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer, Ciri, and Jaskier are among the new characters.
The second season of The Witcher is just over a month away, and Funko has introduced a fresh wave of figures for the fantasy franchise in anticipation. This line of figurines features Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia, Anya Chalotra’s Yennefer, Freya Allan’s Ciri, and Joey Batey’s Jaskier the Bard, all dressed in clothing from the Netflix series’ first season.
The four figures in the main wave, however, are joined by a variety of variants and exclusives. The first type depicts Geralt striking the same fearsome monster-hunting position as the main character, but with a Witcher potion twist. The skin of this variety is grey, with bloodshot veiny eyes, as shown in the series when Geralt employed a potion to gain an advantage in a fight. The final Geralt figure is a Walmart exclusive that depicts Geralt riding his horse Roach. This Funko was first announced in September and is now available for presale.
The next Books-A-Million exclusive portrays Yennefer in a grey-and-black striped outfit, shooting fire from her hands in full attack mode. This figurine is also available for preorder. The final Hot Topic exclusive figurine features everyone’s favourite Bard, Jaskier, donning his signature Dandelion and likely serenading Geralt in lovely song and dance. If you’ve seen the first season, you’ll know that Geralt isn’t a fan of anything that doesn’t entail a bath house or two. This figure’s preorders will be available soon.
Ciri is the only figure without any variants or exclusives, but considering her larger role in the upcoming season, there will undoubtedly be lots of Funko Pops featuring the character in the future. This first wave of figurines merely scratches the surface of this enormous magical realm, and the monster possibilities for what comes next from Funko’s collaboration with this property are limitless.
The Witcher’s first season launched in 2019 to widespread critical acclaim, and the franchise as a whole, with an anime spin-off feature, a prequel series, and a potential family-centered animated series in the pipeline, appears to be a Netflix priority. Following a first season in which Geralt and Ciri took different paths, the infamous Witcher is charged with protecting Ciri and the untapped potential of the strange power within her.
The figures are likely to be released in January/February 2022. The Witcher’s second season will stream all eight episodes on Netflix on December 17. The Witcher Funko Pop figures can be found below.
