The Pokémon Go Light is now available. Shiny Vullaby and shadow Lugia are part of the Shadow event
With Light Comes Shadow is a new Pokémon Go event that will deliver a tiny Team GO Rocket boost to the Festival of Lights event, according to Niantic.
The Festival of Lights has been taken over by Team GO Rocket, who are attempting to kidnap Hoopa. The event begins at 12 a.m. local time on November 9th.
In Vullaby, the event has added a new gleam to the game. It and its evolution, Mandibuzz, can be encountered in the wild, and event-exclusive Field Research offers a guaranteed chance at a shiny Vullaby.
Shadow Lugia has also been added to the event, and can be obtained by defeating Team GO Rocket boss Giovanni. Shadow Persian, Rhyperior, and Lugia will be his companions. After the combat, players will have the opportunity to catch Shadow Lugia.
With the event that requires players to battle five Team GO Rocket Grunts, a Team GO Rocket Leader, and the Team GO Rocket boss, Special Research will be implemented. This is a continuation of the Hoopa-related Misunderstood Mischief research. Trainers will receive a Rocket Radar, Super Rocket Radar, and Lucky Egg if they complete all three of these challenges. The game will reward players with an Absol encounter, two Golden Razz Berries, and 40 Houndoom Mega Energy if they accomplish all three.
Trainers will have three auto-completed chores to tap after completing all three Team GO Rocket activities, each of which gives 2,000 XP and culminates in 20 Hoopa candies, one Star Piece, and a Dusknoir encounter.
Trainers can use a Charged TM to assist a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration during the event as a bonus. At PokéStops and in Rocket Balloons, Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently.
