The murderer of rapper Takeoff has been nabbed by Houston police
At a press conference on November 2, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner announced that a man had been detained in connection with the November 1 deadly shooting of Takeoff, a member of the rap group Migos. Takeoff was 28 years old.
According to Finner, Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, was taken into custody on Thursday night after being apprehended east of Houston. Cameron Joshua, 22, who is also suspected of involvement in the incident, was detained and charged with unauthorised carrying of a weapon last month.
In his words, “We lost a good man,” Finner expressed his sadness. “I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing him but everyone, the hundreds of people I’ve talked to, talked about what a great individual he was.”
According to Houston Police Department homicide investigator Michael Burrow, the case is still ongoing despite an arrest having been made because it is clear that Takeoff was a “innocent bystander.”
Burrow stated, “The event was a private party, there was a lucrative dice game that took place at the event, there was an argument that occurred afterward outside the bowling alley, which led to the shooting,”
According to Burrow, the shooter had nothing to do with the argument or the dice game and was unarmed.
Forensic investigators in Houston are continuing on the case, and they’re hoping to speak with the more than 30 people who were present outside the venue at the time of the fatal shooting of the rapper.
He claimed that “literally all of those people fled the site without providing a statement to police.” They need to come forward, since we did find some of them that night and have located more subsequently.
Burrow elaborated that they determined Clark was culpable based on CCTV footage, cell phone footage, audio, physical, and ballistic evidence.
“Through that, we were able to deduce that Patrick Clark is the lethal shooter in the case,” he said.
