Universal Pictures has released the first teaser for The Munsters, filmmaker Rob Zombie’s planned feature adaptation of the popular 1960s sitcom. The horror comedy is set to launch later this year in the fall, and will be distributed in cinemas and on Peacock concurrently.

The Munsters was a classic comedy series created by Allan Burns and Chris Hayward that was considered as a satire of American suburban life. Between 1965 and 1966, it aired 70 episodes. It received good reviews and recognition despite its brief run, earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series.

While Zombie is best known for his songs, the “Dragula” singer has also made a name for himself as a director. House of 1000 Corpses, 31 and, most recently, 3 from Hell are among his credits.
