The Mercenaries Mode Gameplay Trailer for ‘Hearthstone’ has been released, and Patch 21.4 will be available later today
Hearthstone Mercenaries pre-purchase was available on all platforms when Hearthstone (Free) patch 21.2 was released a short time ago. If you haven’t been keeping up with Hearthstone and the new Mercenaries mode, it allows you to acquire Mercenaries and create groups to take on procedurally generated bounties by combining RPG and roguelike features with Hearthstone characters. Blizzard announced earlier today that Hearthstone patch 21.4, which includes the new Mercenaries mode, will be available later today. At launch, there will be 51 playable mercenaries, and the mode will have its own ranking and matching system. According to Blizzard, this is the most complicated matchmaking and rating system the game has ever seen. Details about this will be published in the near future. In addition, Blizzard released the first Hearthstone Mercenaries gameplay video. Check it out below:
Hearthstone patch 21.4 also begins preparations for the Hallow’s End, with costumed cosmetics, including the Fairy Tales bundle and the Battlegrounds Bundle, arriving next week. The full celebrations will commence with Hearthstone patch 21.6. Today’s patch will also include a slew of bug patches, which you can read about here. Daily and weekly quests from Hearthstone will not be compatible with Mercenaries, with the exception of those that require winning games in any mode and taking a particular number of rounds. In future versions, the language will be changed to identify which quests support Mercenaries mode. I’m interested to see how Hearthstone Mercenaries plays out and how Battlegrounds adapts this year after the massive update earlier this year. Have you recently played Hearthstone? What do you think about the Mercenaries gameplay so far?
