The man who shot Lady Gaga’s dog walker has been sentenced to 21 years in jail
On Monday, the guy who shot Lady Gaga’s dog walker last year and stole her French bulldogs was sentenced to 21 years in jail after accepting a plea deal, according to authorities.
The officials say the link to Lady Gaga is coincidental. Detectives doubt the burglars realised the dogs belonged to the musician; they were motivated by the high market value of French bulldogs.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, one of the three individuals and two accomplices involved in the violent heist, James Howard Jackson, pled no guilty to one count of attempted murder.
According to prior statements made by prosecutors, on February 24, 2021, Jackson and others “looking for French bulldogs” while they drove throughout Hollywood, West Hollywood, and the San Fernando Valley. Ryan Fischer, the pop star’s dog walker, was discovered with all three of Lady Gaga’s animals.
During the robbery, during which two of the dogs were taken, Jackson shot Fischer. A doorbell camera nearby caught the dog walker yelling “Oh my God I’ve been shot” and “Help me” as she collapsed to the ground and began bleeding profusely from her chest.
Fischer later described the violence as a “very close call with death” in social media posts. Several days later, a lady who was also accused of the crime brought back the dogs.
The DA’s office reportedly said that Jackson admitted to having struck someone before and to causing serious bodily injury. For his crime, he will spend the next 21 years behind bars.
“The plea agreement holds Mr Jackson accountable for perpetrating a coldhearted violent act and provides justice for our victim,” the agency stated in a statement.
