Trailer for “The Lost Daughter”
On October 18, 2021, Netflix officially unveiled the trailer for The Lost Daughter. To begin, we see Leda Caruso on a trip to Greece in the clip. While walking through the woods, she comes across a young mother with her young daughter, who she follows and watches intently. There is an abundance of suspense surrounding Leda’s character and her life in the trailer. It also shows Nina, Leda’s mother, becoming increasingly alarmed by her daughter’s antics. It’s also revealed that Leda had two daughters when she was a young mother, and she abruptly left her family without saying goodbye. A scene in which Nina and Callie question Leda about motherhood has her respond simply and rather coldly, “Children are a crushing responsibility.” This reveals a lot about Leda’s character as a parent.
It’s clear from the trailer that the stakes are high in this story, and while much of the plot has already been revealed, there’s likely still more to learn, which you’ll only learn if you watch it.
Cast of “The Lost Daughter”
The cast of The Lost Daughter is as impressive as the story itself. It features a strong supporting cast, including Olivia Coleman and Dakota Johnson, along with Jessie Buckley, Paul Mescal, Dagmara Domiczyk and Oliver Jackson-Cohen in major roles. Along with Jack Farthing and Alba Rohrwacher, the cast also includes
Here are some of the show’s most memorable characters, as well as the actors who portray them:
As Leda Caruso, a middle-aged woman and solo traveller in Greece, Olivia Colman is the film’s star. The story revolves around Leda, her emotions as a mother, her past and present, and where it all leads her in the end.
As seen in the trailer, Jessie Buckley portrays a younger Leda Caruso. It’s no secret that she has two daughters, and the younger Leda’s behaviour reveals a great deal about her older self.
As Nina, a fellow traveller, Dakota Johnson appears. A little girl, whom Leda gets enthralled with, is her daughter.
Leda’s career and current situation interest Professor Hardy, played by Peter Sarsgaard. There’s a chance this has something to do with romance.
When Leda goes on vacation, she meets Lyle, the owner of the vacation home where she is staying. In the promos, Leda appears to be cold towards Lyle, who appears to have some interest in her.
During Leda’s stay at the beach house, Paul Mescal takes on the role of Will, a seasonal aide.
Callie, a fellow vacationer and a distant relative of Nina’s, is played by Dagmara Domiczyk. It’s clear from the trailer that Callie is suspicious of Leda’s obsessions, as she shows a keen interest in their family.
Ollie Jackson-Cohen portrays Nina’s husband, Toni, in the film.
Filming on The Lost Daughter commenced in the summer of 2020.
Despite the difficulties of filming during the COVID-19 pandemic, The Lost Daughter got underway. As of September of that year, principal photography on the film had begun. The film is now ready to be shown on the big screen.
