THREE CLOUD TITLES WILL BE RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME AS SORA’S SMASH BROS. APPEARANCE
Cloud streaming will be used to deliver the Kingdom Hearts games on the Nintendo Switch.
The Switch releases will feature three titles: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts JD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind, which were announced as part of series protagonist Sora’s unveiling as a Smash Bros. DLC fighter.
Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai indicated on Tuesday that release dates will be confirmed soon.
Following the presentation of Smash Bros., Square Enix released a 20th anniversary Kingdom Hearts video describing the festivities it has planned:
The 13th and last DLC character, Sora from Kingdom Hearts, will be published on October 18, bringing the total roster to 89 warriors.
“I knew that Sora was the most requested fighter,” Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai said, citing a poll that was released when Super Smash Bros was on the Wii U and 3DS. It was decided not to reveal the results at the time, so as not to place extra pressure on Square Enix.
Sora will also be accompanied by a new stage called Rising Falls, which flies past the series’ Hollow Bastion castle.
Sakurai recently stated that the unveiling of the final character would mark the end of game production.
