The Homer Glen accident claimed the lives of two and seriously wounded three more
Two persons were killed late Tuesday in a multi-car crash in Homer Glen, a southwest Chicago neighbourhood.
The collision occurred at 5:25 p.m. on Kings Road and 143rd Street in Homer Glen, according to the Will County Sheriff’s office.
There were three cars involved in the collision. The sheriff’s office speculated that one of the vehicles crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with the other two vehicles.
The sheriff’s office said that two people had died and three others were transferred to local hospitals in critical condition.
One automobile was on the road and the other was in a ditch next to it as Chopper 2 flew overhead. Both had severely damaged front ends, and one seemed to have caught fire at an earlier time.
Tuesday night, while accident reconstruction efforts continued, law enforcement officials remained on the scene.
