The Gunk, a new game from Image & Form Games and Thunderful Publishing, will be released in December for PC and Xbox consoles, according to Xbox.
This information comes from Game Director Ulf Hartelius’ official blog post on Xbox Wire, which was released shortly after the game was showed shown during Xbox’s Gamescom live stream.
In addition, Hartelius provides a synopsis of the game’s plot. You take on the role of Rani, a galactic scavenger who teams up with her sidekick Becks to mine resources from faraway planets in order to survive.
Rani meets the titular muck after landing on what appears to be a barren planet. This substance has the potential to make a lot of money, but it is also slowly destroying everything it touches.
It’s your job to clean up the muck and return each ecosystem to its former grandeur. Players will receive fresh information about each area Rani investigates as well as facts about an ancient civilisation that once existed on the globe if they do so.
If you’re interested in playing The Gunk, it’ll be available on PC and Xbox in December. There’s no word on a precise release date just yet, so keep an eye out for updates.
The Gunk wasn’t the only game shown off during Xbox’s Gamescom webcast, and we now know more about some of the publisher’s upcoming titles.
Crusader Kings 3 will be released on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 5, and Xbox Cloud gaming will be available on Xbox consoles later this holiday season.
