The Crown: Dominic West’s son Senat has been cast in Season 5 as Prince William
“The Crown” has found its Prince William in Senat West, 13-year-old Dominic West’s son,” Variety says.
In the eagerly anticipated fifth season, West takes over from fellow Brit Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles, the heir to the throne. Known for her roles in Widows and Tenet, Elizabeth Debicki has been cast as a very tall Diana, Princess of Wales, née Spencer. If you’re a Kristen Stewart lover, there’s little doubt Debicki’s performance will pique your interest. Her name is on the lips of awards forecasters everywhere for her performance in Pablo Larran’s Spencer.
Senan has been cast as “a slightly older Prince William, portraying him as he begins to mature into a young man,” much like O’Connor’s portrayal of Prince Charles, which saw him grow from a soft-spoken Cambrophile into an abusive bigamist. He should be careful not to copy his on-screen father. “it’s believed the young actor’s audition, submitted via tape by his agent, caught the attention of the show’s producers.” Variety quotes the show’s executive producer as saying.
It was Khalid Abdalla, star of The Kite Runner, who played Dodi Fayed, the son of the millionaire Mohamed Al-Fayed who died in an infamous Paris automobile accident alongside Diana, Princess of Wales, in September. The paparazzi trailed the two until the end. Salim Daw will portray his father in the film.
The fifth season of the drama will follow the English monarchy into the tumultuous ’90s, when Princess Diana becomes a media sensation following her divorce from Prince Charles.. In an interview with BBC journalist Martin Bashir for the programme Panorama, Diana supposedly revealed details of the abuse she suffered from her husband. This is thought to be a major narrative point in the film. Later, William said it “has no legitimacy and should never be aired again,” which has since become a source of debate.
It will also feature Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonny Lee Miller as Prime Minister John Major, and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles in Season 5.
Season 5 will launch on Netflix in November 2022, where Seasons 1 through 4 are presently available to watch.
