The child abuse case against Tiffany Haddish has left her unemployed
Tiffany Haddish alleges she is currently jobless as a result of the child abuse case filed against her and Aries Spears.
The 42-year-old “Easter Sunday” actress was questioned by paparazzi at LAX on Wednesday about the issue after hearing that the Jane Doe who had accused the comedians of sexual assault had begged the judge to throw out the case.
While the legal obscurity around Haddish and Spears’ identities has been lifted, the damage to their respective brands may have already been done. In one interview, Haddish said she can already feel it.
“I lost everything. All my gigs, gone. Everything, gone,” she responded in a TMZ video when asked if she was worried that the case would hurt her reputation.
Haddish shot back, “I don’t have no job, bro.” when a photographer tried to probe her about whether or not she thought her career could change the way people saw her.
In the original case, Jane and her brother (also unnamed) accused Spears and Haddish of deliberate infliction of emotional distress, gross negligence, sexual violence, sexual harassment, and sexual abuse of a minor.
Additional allegations include that both defendants “groomed and molested” John Doe, according to the lawsuit that was filed in late August.
In addition to the accusation of constructive fraud, Haddish was also accused of breach of fiduciary duty, negligent supervision, and failure to warn. In addition to “any appropriate statutory damages,” the case asked for general and extraordinary damages.
When the lawsuit was dropped, however, Jane’s fortunes altered.”My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years – and we now know that she would never harm me or my brother or help anyone else do anything that could harm us. We wish Tiffany the best and are glad that we can all put this behind us,” her official statement read.
