T.I. allegedly punched Andrew Taggart, a member of The Chainsmokers
Andrew “Drew” Taggart, a member of the band The Chainsmokers, said he had a shocking run-in with T.I. The Atlanta rapper punched Taggart during a meet-and-greet at a club.
The DJ claimed in a recent TikTok video that he kissed T.I. on the cheek and got smacked in response. Taggart and another member of The Chainsmokers Alexander Pall are featured in the video “When meeting T.I. goes wrong,” in which they are seen performing at a nightclub alongside the hip-hop musician and others.
The clip shows Taggart and T.I. taking a selfie together and then switches to Taggart, saying, “T.I. just literally punched me in the face.”
We are on the same wave length, so I smooched his cheek. It was absolutely my fault.” As Taggart recounts the incident, Pall can be heard giggling in the background.
“He was like, ‘Don’t do that.’ And I was like, ‘OK.’ He pushed me off and I was like, ‘Alright, my bad,'” T.I.’s crew member reportedly said Pall, “you need to get your boy.”
Taggart expressed regret for the way T.I. had “punched” him. “He was like, ‘Alright cool, we’re good.’ It was the oddest interaction ever,” Taggart remarked of the exchange.
“First of all, T.I.’s fully in the right here. I was feeling the vibes way too hard and I kissed T.I. on the cheek. And he punched me in the face for it! It’s like, fully fine,” Taggart explained.
Though fans may feel the two are feuding, T.I. promptly denied such claims. The rapper posted a video reaction to Taggart in which he extended an invitation to appear on his ExpediTIously show.
T.I., in the Instagram video, tries hard to contain his mirth as he reassures his girlfriend that things between them are good.
“First off, I love The Chainsmokers, OK so let’s just get that straight,” he remarked.
“I have nothing negative to say, you know we just had to work through stuff, you know what I mean?
“We got to a much better place… I have nothing but good things to say about them, good guys… I don’t want to go into too much detail but I love The Chainsmokers, they make great music,” T.I. said.
“There’s really not much more to the story than you’ve already heard,” he remarked. “I think the most important thing to take away is afterwards, we had a drink, we took a shot, you dig? You know what I’m saying? And we moved on. You know, everybody left the party, had a good time. Like I said, love The Chainsmokers — not to get no sugar, though.”
