The issue arose during an interview for the hit Netflix series’ fourth season, which delves more into Eleven’s past and shows her growing up in a secluded institution with other children with superpowers. Despite being among other children, the Duffers were questioned why Eleven seemed to have such a distinct speaking pattern.
While Eleven did mingle with other children, her memory was harmed as a result of her entering into a coma and waking up with no memories of her childhood, according to Matt Duffer.

Well, she’s socialised the same way the other kids are, and then she goes into a coma, reawakens, has no memory of these events, and is raised in total isolation by Brenner, who won’t bring in another number for fear of it happening again,” Matt Duffer explained. “As a result, he prefers to concentrate completely on her. She is single and lives alone in a little room. This is the Eleven from Season 1 that we first meet. She spent two years in solitude and had very little recollections of what had happened to her.As a result, that is one of the reasons for the speech.”
