Steam revealed it is now testing out the beta of the new Mobile App
According to a post on the Steam website, the beta version of the new Steam Mobile App is currently available for testing. Both Steam’s website and Steam’s app store provide direct download links for the Steam Mobile App. In a recent blog post, Steam announced that the beta testing phase for the new Steam mobile app has begun and provided information on how to participate. Valve wants to make the new Steam mobile app available to the public as soon as possible, so it’s urging users who are already testing it to provide feedback as soon as possible.
Hopefully, Steam will keep tweaking the Steam Mobile app until it’s fully functional and takes into account all user feedback. Before releasing the updated version to the general public, we expect Valve to do a beta test and solicit input from players. Some beta users have reported faster load speeds, smoother scrolling, and a more aesthetically pleasing layout, but others have complained that the software is slow.
Although I frequently utilize the Steam desktop software, my only experience with the Steam mobile app has been when I received a notification that a game I had added to my wish list was on sale. You can still peruse the Steam Store, get Steam Guard codes, and verify trades, but the revamped version has a more robust library, allows for numerous accounts, and features QR-code logins, smart notifications, and improved library browsing. Players can expect to use the app to shop, make and accept trades, and obtain Steam Guard activation codes, just as they have in the past.
The Steam Store, Steam Chat, Steam Guard, and other features were all accessible from that app. At one point, Valve released a unique (and noticeably more advanced) chat software for chatting with pals. Enter “Steam” into the Play Store’s search bar, scroll down until you see “Join Beta,” and then hit that. Steam has not announced a release date for the new app; until a completely redesigned version is complete, the current strategy is to keep adding people to the test and upgrading features. A new Steam app for iOS and Android entered beta testing today.
