Stardew Valley – Where to Find Squid Kid
Even though the caves of Stardew Valley are full of slimes, ghosts, and wizards, the Squid Kid doesn’t pose much of a challenge. However, it does have some helpful items that it can drop, so it’s not all bad. What the Squid Kid performs and where to find it in Stardew Valley are detailed below.
Stardew Valley – Where to Find Squid Kid
Squid Kid can be found in the lava floors of the mines anywhere from level 81 to 119, though you’ll have to do some impressive mining to get to them. If you turn the mines to Dangerous mode and accept the Danger in the Deep quest, “Dangerous” versions of them will spawn when you finish the mines, but otherwise they won’t pose much of a hazard.

The Squid Kid is a very weak foe, inflicting only 18 basic damage with its fireball and having a health total of 1. Keep an eye on your back and rush them to defeat them; the fireball can ricochet off the walls and come back if you’re not careful. Because they only have one health, it only takes one hit from a melee or ranged weapon to kill them.
The Squid Kid Drop
The Squid Kid is a rather simple target, but it drops several important items when it is killed. Solar essence, squid ink, standard and mega bombs, gold bars, and the third and fourth dwarf scrolls are all possible loot it can drop. Diamonds and prismatic shards may be dropped from the ceiling once you have descended far enough into the mines.
All of that gear may end up being crucial to your continued success in the farming world. While the bombs will come in handy in the Skull Cave, the squid ink can be put to use in the tailoring machine at Emily and Haley’s house. The gold bars can be used to buy better tools and farm equipment, while the solar essence can be put to good use at the Community Center.
