SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE 2: RELEASE DATE
The Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) sequel to Into the Spider-Verse will hit theatres on October 7, 2022. Due to Covid-19, this film’s release date was pushed from April 2022 to now, but happily only once. After Into the Spider-favorable verse’s reception, the production was planned for 2018 with plenty of time to deal with unexpected events.

SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE 2: TRAILER
Yes, and there’s a lot to admire as a result. Miles is daydreaming and listening to music when Spider-Gwen pops through to say hello. She examines his diaries and discovers indications that he may harbour romantic feelings for her.
Even though he’s supposed to be at home, she keeps pressuring him to go on an excursion. As he hurtles through time and space, we see him in his Spidey suit, arriving in an entirely new and uncharted reality. Spider-Man 2099 swoops in and snatches him just as he’s gathering his bearings.
Miles is tossed around like a ragdoll in a futuristic roadway of some sort. Different animation techniques return, giving each setting and backdrop its own distinct tone and flavour, and the difference in fidelity from the last is pretty jaw-dropping..
THE SPIDER-VERSE 2 PLOT: SPIDER-MAN
Spider-Man 2 is getting a synopsis, but it doesn’t reveal much beyond the fact that a whole team of Spider-People will be on the scene and they’ll have to deal with a threat larger than anything they’ve ever encountered. I’m so sorry! And since this is just the first of two parts, things could get a little crazy.
This sequel to the Oscar-winning film Into the Spider-Verse will see Miles return as Spider-Man, this time accompanied by Gwen Stacy and a brand new group of Spider-People, to face off against a villain far more powerful than anything they’ve faced before. The full synopsis for Into the Spider-Verse 2 can be found here.
Lord and Miller, the film’s co-writers, have teased all the different Spider-Man iterations and animation styles to come. In an interview with IndieWire, Lord said, “It’s been fun to have the confidence.” Miles will be taken to areas you never thought possible if you push the medium even more.
According to Entertainment Weekly, “Miles will reunite with some old friends and meet… a lot of new ones,” they teased, but didn’t reveal anything further. Other than Spider-Man 2099, who else may make the cut? Spiders-Man? Spider-Cat? What’s this? The options are virtually limitless!
