Sony finally revealed the price and release date for the PS VR2
After presenting the PS VR2 earlier this year, Sony has now made the official announcement regarding the release date of the next-generation VR2 device. This device will only be compatible with the PlayStation 5 gaming console. On November 15, Sony will begin taking pre-orders for the PlayStation VR2, and the launch date for the product itself is February 22, 2023.
The price of the PlayStation VR2 will be $549.99 for the standalone system and $599.99 for the bundle that contains the game and the second-generation virtual reality (VR) equipment. The official Indian price has not been disclosed by Sony just yet; however, taking into account the cost of the PS5 in India, the estimated price range for the PS5 in India might be somewhere between Rs 50,000 and Rs 55,000. The VR2 headset itself, together with the brand-new Sense controllers, is included in the box’s contents and contains the game and the second-generation virtual reality (VR) equipment.

Sony has also disclosed the cost of the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller charging station, which will be sold separately as an accessory and will cost $49.99 when it becomes available.
In the beginning of this year, Sony Interactive Entertainment made the announcement that the second generation of the PlayStation VR will not be compatible with previously released games for the first generation of the PlayStation VR. However, Sony is determined to ride the wave of success that will be generated by the release of God of War: Ragnarok on November 9. As a result, games such as Horizon: Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil 8 VR, and Among Us, VR are scheduled to be the launch window titles for the new PlayStation VR system.
The OLED display screen that the VR2 will feature will have a resolution of 2000 x 2040 for each eye, and it will have a maximum frame rate of 90 or 120 Hz. Infrared (IR) cameras will be included in the virtual reality setup in addition to the four cameras that will be used to track the controllers and the headset. A dynamic trigger system and haptic feedback will be available on the new Sense controller, just as they are on the DualSense controller for the PS5 console.
“It’s exciting to see how game developers are taking advantage of the PS VR2’s headset features to design the next generation of VR games.” We’re expecting more than 20 titles at launch, and we can’t wait for February when PS VR2 launches so players can give it a try. “We’ll have more details on our launch game lineup in the future, so stay tuned,” said Isabelle Tomatis, VPP of a brand, hardware, and peripherals at SIE, in a blog post.
