Silk Sonic will not submit “An Evening With Silk Sonic” to the Grammys
In 2023, Silk Sonic will not be nominated for any Grammys, thus that evening will be a quiet one.
According to a statement sent through Billboard, the group has decided not to submit its album, “An Evening With Silk Sonic,” for consideration.
This year, “Leave the Door Open” by Silk Sonic won four Grammys, including record of the year and song of the year. They gave a performance during the event as well.
Bruno Mars, who is in the pair with Anderson.Paak, made a statement explaining why they decided not to submit their debut album for consideration at the 2023 Grammy Awards, despite the fact that it was released in November 2021.
The instant the world responded to the first track ‘Leave the Door Open,’ Andy and I and everyone involved in the project had already won. According to the article, he described everything else as “icing on the cake.” We appreciate the Grammys for giving us the opportunity to perform on their stage not once, but twice, and for the prize we received at last year’s ceremony. Any further requests would be completely unreasonable.
Also, “We truly put our all on this record,” he said, “but Silk Sonic would like to gracefully, humbly, and most importantly, sexually, bow out of submitting our album this year.”
Mars implied that the two were welcome to “celebrate with everyone” and “take part in the party,” apparently referring to the event.
“Thank you for letting Silk Sonic Thrive,” he said in the end
