Severe rain might cause more flooding in Hoboken, according to new alert
Local officials are urging residents to be on the lookout for floods due to the chance of severe weather later tonight and into Tuesday, when up to four inches of rain might fall.
Residents are specifically advised to move their vehicles away from flood-prone zones, which have “No Parking” signs placed. Cars will not be towed; however, barricades will be placed around flood-prone intersections.
Residents possessing on-street parking permits or temporary parking permits can park for $5 per 24-hour period at Garages B (28 2nd Street), D (215 Hudson Street), and the Midtown Garage (371 4th Street).
Discounted parking begins Monday at 5:00 p.m. and ends Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
While street sweeping will be delayed, recycling collection will continue as usual on Tuesday.
Residents are also encouraged to secure all loose objects outside or bring them inside, especially on balconies, with winds of 15-30 miles per hour anticipated. Depending on the wind load, outside tents should be pulled down.
Winds could knock down trees and electrical wires, causing power outages. PSEG can be notified of downed power lines by going here.
