Severance and Big Little Lies star Adam Scott joins Madame Web Cast
Adam Scott, who starred in Severance and Big Little Lies, will appear in Sony’s upcoming female-led superhero film Madame Web, according to News. Along with Mike Epps, Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, Celeste O’Connor, and Tahar Rahim, he joins the cast of the Dakota Johnson-starring movie. The screenplay for the movie was written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless of Morbius, and it will be directed by S.J. Clarkson (Anatomy of a Scandal). Kerem Sanga wrote an early draft (The Violent Heart).
With the exception of the main character, Adam Scott’s identity in Madame Web remains unknown, as is that of the majority of the actors. According to rumors, the movie will play more like Doctor Strange than the comics, which feature an elderly woman entangled in a web of medical apparatus. This marks a significant departure from the comics for the movie. While Johnson’s persona and the comic book character are expected to have some psychic abilities, there are probably going to be a lot of other differences as well. Like the majority of character information, plot specifics are kept under wraps.
Adam Scott is in a fantastic position to maintain his upward trajectory after leaving the popular Apple TV series Severance, which was renewed for a second season and received numerous Emmy nominations. He now has Madame Web under his belt. The actor has recently been in Loot, Ghostwriter, and the HBO series Big Little Lies from 2017 to 2019.
Adam Scott enters the Sony realm by joining Madame Web. With Venom, its follow-up, and most recently, Morbius, the studio launched its franchise. The following film, Kraven the Hunter, starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Avengers: Age of Ultron), will be released on January 13, 2023. With a more conventional superhero, the Johnson-led movie will diverge from the villainous and anti-hero-focused start. The movie will premiere on July 7, 2023.
