‘Scrubs’ writer Eric Weinberg arrested after 18 sex abuse, assault accusations
Prosecutors have charged 18 counts of sexual abuse and assault against a former writer and producer for the popular TV program “Scrubs” leading to his re-arrest.
Eric Weinberg was taken into custody by LAPD on Tuesday afternoon; he posted bail of $5 million and was released that evening.
In July, Weinberg was initially detained on “sexual assaults including rape” allegedly committed between 2012 and 2019.
According to the LAPD’s probe, Weinberg “appears to have targeted women in grocery stores, coffee shops and other public places”, inviting them to his house for picture shoots where he then allegedly sexually assaulted them.
Forensic investigators have previously speculated that further attack victims from the early 1990s may yet surface.
Producer and writer for shows like “Scrubs,” “Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher,” “Californication” and “American Dad.” are among Weinberg’s many accomplishments.
