Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams Wed After a 3-Year Engagement
Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams have been engaged for a while now.
The Modern Family actor and the Bachelor in Paradise bartender tied the knot in an outdoor ceremony at Sunstone Winery in the Santa Barbara, California, area on August 20—the same day Bennifer held their second wedding in Georgia.

Even though the happy couple has yet to post any images from their wedding, Hyland’s longtime co-star Sofia Vergara documented the event on Instagram and Instagram Stories. Modern Family stars Nolan Gould, Julie Bowen, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson were there in addition to Vergara, who brought her son as her plus one. Ferguson’s husband, Justin Mikita, also came. Vergara captioned a cute photo booth pic of the gang with “#sarahandwells wedding❤️❤️❤️❤️” and posted it to her grid.
Vergara posted photographs and videos on his Instagram Story of the wedding cake, additional cast members from Modern Family, and the cute parasols that guests received to protect their eyes from the sunlight.
Back in 2016, Sarah Hyland tweeted about her interest on Wells Adams, a previous contestant on The Bachelorette. Since then, the two have been talking back and forth.
Adams popped the question on a beach in July of 2019 after dating for several years. Hyland aptly described the enchanting engagement as “That can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff,” in the caption for a photo of the event.
Inconveniently, the coronavirus pandemic forced them to postpone their wedding not once, but twice. Hyland posted pictures of the couple at what appears to be their wedding location in August of 2020. On August 8 she captioned the photographs, “A couple, a pandemic, and a postponed wedding: A series.” Hyland’s white ensemble and sun hat with veil made her look very bridelike. “We were supposed to get married today. Instead… we took pictures and drank wine. I love you to Pluto & back.”
Adams, meanwhile, shared another image from the series on Instagram with the caption, “We were supposed to get married today. We didn’t. But I still got to grab a butt. So, ya know, still pretttty cool.”
