Samsung Galaxy Watch 5: Price and Features
It’s time again for Samsung’s annual Galaxy Unpacked event. At the event, Samsung introduced a number of new products, including a smartphone with a flip screen and a foldable smartphone, as well as a new watch and headphones, the Galaxy Watch 5. We recently released an article outlining the full range of pricing and specifications for the updated lineup of foldable and flip smartphones, as well as its new earbuds. The Galaxy 5 series and the Buds 2 Pro are only two of the Galaxy’s accessories, but we’ll be discussing them in detail here. This is what we know about the freshly released product at the moment.
Galaxy Watch 5 features
Samsung has released only the Galaxy Watch 5 models of its smartwatches. In this line, we’ll see not one but two smartwatch models: the regular Galaxy Watch 5 and the more advanced Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Both of these smartwatches display the signature rotating bezel found on all Galaxy watches as well as a high-end-looking round dial. In this case, the pro version will feel a bit more rugged thanks to its titanium housing and D-Buckle Sports band. You can expect to see a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED Sapphire Crytal screen with support for 450 pixels per inch (PPI) and the Always-on-display function.
The aluminum case of the standard Watch 5 is shown here; it comes in two sizes, 44 millimeters, and 40 millimeters. The screen size here is a more manageable 1.2 inches, and it’s a Super AMOLED Sapphire Crystal display. The Exynos W920 SoC from Samsung will power both the regular and pro models of the company’s upcoming smartwatch. Internal storage will be 16GB, and we’ll see 1.5GB of RAM.
Other hardware features unique to Samsung’s smartwatches include a BioActive Sensor that integrates Optical Heart Rate, Electrical Heart Signal, and Bioelectrical Impedance to measure a user’s heart rate, and blood oxygen level, and stress levels. Here, we see brand-new hardware built into the smartwatch in the form of a temperature sensor. The smartwatch relies on infrared sensors to determine wearers’ core body temperatures. The smartwatch can also serve as a health tracker, monitor your sleep patterns, and remind you to drink water. The battery size here is also slightly larger than in the previous year’s models.
Price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5
The base model of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, which includes Bluetooth connectivity but no cellular data service, costs $279. An LTE model, which includes both Bluetooth and cellular data service, costs an additional $29. However, the base model of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro with Bluetooth costs $449, and a model with LTE connectivity costs an additional $99. The Galaxy Watch 5 comes in two different colors, and if you’re interested in gold, you can purchase one for $329.
