Robert Downey Jr. speaks candidly about his drug abuse
Robert Downey Jr.’s performance as Iron Man in the Marvel movies has made him a household celebrity.
Even though he is undeniably one of the best actors of all time, he has been plagued by legal and drug-related issues throughout his career.
A Netflix documentary called “Sr” explores the drug culture of Downey’s family. Both of Downey’s parents were involved in the drug trade.
“I always knew what was going on in that basement,” Robert said, referring to his knowledge of his father’s activities from an early age.
At age eight, he and his father began using drugs: “We altered our awareness with chemicals.”
Robert admitted, “I was just playing a game of wanting to appease myself or stay high, before I accepted the fact that things had gotten out of control,”
