You shouldn’t freak out if it happens. All you have to do is wait for the time to run out and a bell to ring. Here are a few short actions to take before then:
Get Out Your Shotgun
On the second level of the home in the northern part of the hamlet is where you’ll find the shotgun.
Enter the building, up the stairs to retrieve the shotgun, then exit back to the town square via the window.
Keep taking down the villagers and keeping them at bay for as long as possible until the cutscene plays and the terrible chainsaw guy appears. In this scenario, you can either kill the chainsaw guy or avoid him to save bullets.
If you have a flash grenade, this is the time to throw it, stunning the chainsaw guy and any nearby civilians. You should use this time to engage them in combat and then head towards the tower in the northern part of the settlement.
Climb That Tower
The tower is situated adjacent to the residence from whence you obtained the shotgun. The floor will crumble from under you when you turn around after climbing the ladder to get the ammunition, forcing you to descend to the ground floor.
To see the chainsaw man sever the supports of a home in another cutscene, head to the route directly opposite the tower and follow it around. This will start fires in the barn and other nearby buildings.
Return to the plaza and keep firing at the peasants and the chainsaw man; you should soon hear a bell chime. As soon as the bell rings, you may relax knowing that the villagers will leave you alone and a cutscene will begin automatically.
