Rep. Devin Nunes to be new CEO of Trump’s Social Media Companies
What’s next for the would-be social media/regular media giant after the SEC revealed an inquiry into its ambitions to merge with Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) and list on the Nasdaq?
Apparently, TMTG just hired Congressman Devin G. Nunes as CEO. Nunes, a Trump supporter and defender, sat on the House Intelligence Committee during its 2016 election investigation. Devin G. Nunes sued Twitter for allowing his mother and cow to insult him.
In January, he expects to depart the US House of Representatives, where redistricting may have rendered his current position difficult to hold. “The time has come to reopen the Internet and allow for the free flow of ideas and expression without censorship,” says the guy mentioned in the case.
Nunes will also head TMTG Plus, a subscription-based video service with “non-woke entertainment, news, documentaries, podcasts, and more,” the company adds.
“Congressman Devin Nunes is a fighter and a leader,” Trump said. He’ll be a great TMTG CEO. Devin knows we must stop the liberal media and Big Tech from eroding America’s freedoms. American citizens want TRUTH Social and an end to censorship and political bias.
Mastodon cited Truth Social in October for utilising the project’s open source code without mandatory notifications and publicising any adjustments made for the community’s benefit. Truth Social has since acknowledged its open-source roots and provided code, according to PC Mag. However, the accessible package appears to lack any “proprietary” code operators claim the site will use.
In November, DWAC and TMTG announced a “Beta Launch for invited guests” for Truth Social.
