Reality Stars Julie Chrisley and Jerry Harris Both sent to same prison
In a twist of fate, “Cheers” actor Jerry Harris and reality TV star Julie Chrisley have found themselves mates in the same federal prison.
What’s going on is this: Harris, an ex-cheerleader on the Netflix blockbuster series, has been detained at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky since August of last year, and the “Chrisley Knows Best” actress joined her on Tuesday.
Although this satellite camp is far lower in security than, say, a SuperMax, it doesn’t mean Julie and Jerry can hang around in the yard. The government, for reasons that should be clear, apparently hold male and female convicts in different wings of the prison.
We reported in June that Julie was found guilty of bank fraud, wire fraud, and tax evasion and given a seven-year sentence; despite the name of the facility, Julie does not require medical care.
The Bureau of Prisons has verified that Jerry, along with other detainees, is being detained at FMC Lexington for both medical and non-medical reasons.
Jerry is “doing well for someone who is in prison,” according to his attorney, Todd Pugh. He continues, saying that Jerry has “acclimated himself to custodial life and is participating in every type of self-betterment program available.”
