Rapper Kanye West to buy social media app Parler
Ye, who is better known by his stage name Kanye West, has reached an agreement to purchase the social media platform Parler. Kanye West is an American singer and fashion designer. Since its inception in 2018, the American new venture has successfully raised $56 million. The information was validated by Parler’s parent business, Parlement Technologies, which has its headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee. This information was reported by Reuters. The social media app is believed to be popular among right-wing US conservatives as an alternative to Twitter, and it competes with comparable sites such as Gettr, Gab, and Truth Social, which were launched by former US President Donald Trump.
After the Capitol Riots on January 6, 2021, in Washington, DC, the platform was deleted from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store because it was thought that the riots were organized on alternative “free speech” social media applications such as Parler. These apps include Parler. Nevertheless, it is now available once more in both of the stores.
The business did not wish to comment on the magnitude of the transaction but did state that it would be finalized during the last quarter of 2022. According to the company’s Chief Executive Officer, George Farmer, discussions on its acquisition have only recently begun, which took place after Paris Fashion Week, which ended on October 4. Since the worldwide fashion event, Kanye West’s anti-Semitic rants have been making headlines recently, and for good reason. During Fashion Week, he sported a shirt bearing the words “White Lives Matter” on the front.
Ye is quoted as saying in a statement that “In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial, we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves.” Both Ye’s Instagram and Twitter accounts have been suspended in the past, with the most recent incident occurring earlier this month when Ye’s anti-Semitic messages were removed from the networks where they were originally published.
The famous American rapper declared in 2020 that he would run for president of the United States. In what appears to be a challenge to his predecessor as U.S. president, President Donald Trump, but then changed their minds afterward. As part of the company’s ongoing restructuring, Parler established a new parent company called Parlement Technologies Inc. one month ago. West stopped working with the clothing store Gap Inc. a month ago, saying that the company had not kept the promises it had made as part of the deal.
