Rafael Nadal’s rage and sadness over his wife’s hospitalization during the US Open
Rafael Nadal, a Spanish tennis player, is experiencing a difficult family situation that is influencing his play at the US Open, which began earlier this month. His wife Mery Perelló was rushed to a hospital in Palma de Mallorca, Spain due to a pregnancy issue.
While Mery and her baby are no longer in danger and her condition is improving, she is still being kept in the hospital.
The family has also stated that they will seek for the individuals responsible for the leak of the footage showing Mery’s hospitalisation at the Hospital Quironsalud Palmaplanas.
Journalists are reportedly waiting outside of the private clinic where Nadal’s wife receives treatment after learning her medical history was released.
The family’s distress over the situation has prompted them to consider taking her to a different medical facility.
According to the medical report, Mery will require close monitoring from the time she is currently 31 weeks pregnant to the time she is 34 weeks pregnant. Reportedly, this time frame is for monitoring purposes and to make sure her pregnancy goes off without a hitch.
The tennis player in this case chose to remain in the United States and continue competing in the US Open, suggesting that his wife is safe from harm (though there is still the risk that she will need surgery). Given the circumstances, tennis star Rafael Nadal’s sister Maribel is constantly by Mery’s side.
The Nadal-Perelló family has always prioritised secrecy; they confirmed Mery’s pregnancy with exclusive images for a magazine, and they visit the hospital through the private parking lot to avoid the prying eyes of the media.
