Quentin Tarantino announced his final movie “The Movie Critic”
One of the most important directors in Hollywood history, Quentin Tarantino, is about to wrap up his career. The script, titled The Cinema Critic, purportedly follows a female protagonist through late 1970s Los Angeles. A biopic on the life of renowned cinema critic Pauline Kael is rumoured to be at the film’s centre, however no official plot details have been revealed as of yet.
Kael made a name for herself in the field of film criticism with her feisty demeanour and groundbreaking work. In the late 1970s—the same era in which the film is set—she worked as a consultant for Paramount. According to Tarantino’s previous statements of admiration for Kael, she is likely to be the focus of the film.
The Hollywood Reporter says that while no studio has officially signed on to produce the film, Sony is in the lead thanks to Tarantino’s personal friendship with Sony Pictures CEO Tom Rothman. Once Once a Time in Hollywood, which Sony also released, earned over $377 million worldwide and was nominated for 10 Academy Awards, winning two.
Tarantino has said for a long time that he will stop creating movies until he either directs 10 films or becomes 60. After finishing his eighth feature picture, The Cinema Critic, he will turn 60 years old later this month.
Tarantino has said in the past that he plans to retire on top, and he agrees with the observation that filmmakers sometimes lose touch with their viewers as they get older. Tarantino may be retiring from feature films, but he hasn’t ruled out directing television or theatre.
A novelization of Once In a Time in Hollywood was his debut work, and it was just released. Tarantino has worked with some of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Samuel L. Jackson.
Oscar awards and nominations for his innovative takes on Spaghetti Westerns and blaxploitation have established him as one of the film industry’s most lauded auteurs.
Audiences may anticipate a brilliant finish to Tarantino’s renowned career if The Movie Critic does wind up being his last movie.
