Pregnant sister, brother-in-law, and niece of Megan Hilty killed in plane crash
Tragically, Megan Hilty lost her pregnant sister, brother-in-law, and niece in a floatplane disaster on Sunday.
The US Coast Guard revealed on Tuesday that three of the 10 people aboard the plane that crashed in Washington state’s Puget Sound were related to the “Smash” alum.
On Monday, the search for the nine passengers and pilot Jason Winters was called off after the discovery of a female body that had not yet been identified.
The reasons for the crash remain mysterious.
In an interview with a local news site, Ross Mickel, Lauren Hilty’s husband, said, “collective grief is unimaginable.”
To quote the rest of the statement: We are deeply saddened and beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved Ross Mickel, Lauren Hilty, [their daughter] Remy and their unborn baby boy, Luca.”
Since Mickel has owned Ross Andrew Wineries since 1999, the Washington State Wine Commission issued a separate statement in his honour.
Ross “had an incredible impact on the Washington wine community and he will be greatly missed,” the statement said.
Megan, who is 41, has not yet addressed the public about the incident.
The Broadway star married Brian Gallagher in November 2013 and the couple now has two children together.

Viola, now 7, and Ronan, now 5, are the couple’s children; they were born in September 2014 and March 2017, respectively.
Megan informed her Instagram fans in May 2019 that having children was not in her “plan” before she met Gallagher, but that she had changed her mind.
“I always had this thought in my head that there was no room in my life for anything other than my career and I was so SO wrong,” she said.
“Life never turns out quite how you expect it to. I am in a constant polarizing state of feeling overwhelmingly grateful to work and a deep sense of longing to be home.”
